When you’ve spent decades working with wood, running CNC machines, and maintaining facilities, you start to notice things most people don’t. The grain of good materials. The precision of joinery. Whether something is built to last or just built to sell.
Ron Warhead from Olympia, Washington noticed. And when he picked up his new Geotrek van, he knew immediately he had made the right choice.
A Craftsman’s Eye
Ron’s background is in woodworking and facilities maintenance. He has run CNC machines, understands materials, and knows what holds up over time. When he toured Geotrek’s shop during the build process, he paid attention to the details most customers might overlook.
“They have a fantastic operation here with the bamboo and the Baltic birch plywood,” Ron explains. “Quality material that’s gonna hold up for years and years to come.”
For Ron, it wasn’t about flash. It was about craftsmanship and knowing the van he drives was built with the same care he has spent a lifetime putting into his own work.
It Just Felt Right
When Ron first stepped into his completed van, he didn’t have to analyze it. “My feeling was it just felt right,” he says.
That is what happens when a build meets your expectations instead of testing them. No gaps to fix, no compromises to excuse, just solid design that works the way it is supposed to.
A Team That Listens
Throughout the build process, Ron requested a few upgrades. The Geotrek team responded within hours.
“No problem,” he recalls. “They were very accommodating.”
On pickup day, the experience matched the process. “Everybody’s been really super friendly, super helpful,” Ron says. “It’s been probably one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
A Journey Ahead
Ron’s wife recently passed away. She always wanted him to keep living and to keep moving forward. This van is part of that promise.
“My ultimate goal is to take this thing and visit every national park in the U.S.,” Ron says. “And this is gonna be the vehicle I’m gonna be doing it with.”
That is 63 national parks, from the rocky coasts of Acadia to the red deserts of Joshua Tree, each one a new step on a long road ahead.
Ron chose Geotrek because he knows quality when he sees it. And now, he has the van that will take him everywhere he wants to go.
