Ever wonder how some van builders seem stuck in the past while others just get it?
At Geotrek, the difference is simple: we listen. After building 300+ vans for real adventurers, we’ve learned the best ideas don’t come from a boardroom – they come from the road.
Every “I wish my van had ___” makes our vans better.
That’s why we started building demo vans – test builds where new features get tried, refined, and sometimes rejected. The best ideas stick, shaping the vans you see today and the ones still to come.
After years of testing and perfecting, we launched our two newest models in 2025: Flatiron and Bear Peak. These vans are the result of customer feedback, countless demo builds, and lessons learned from real-world adventures.
Here’s a closer look at the upgrades inside our latest demo build.
Inside Our Latest Demo Build
Our latest Sprinter van demo build is packed with upgrades inspired by customer feedback and new ideas from our design team. Here are the highlights:
- Slate Coast Cabinet Color
A soft baby blue cabinet finish that brings a fresh, modern feel to the interior. It’s an exclusive option we tested in this demo build, and it gives the space a lighter, more custom vibe. - Flush Inset Sink
A cleaner, modern look that blends seamlessly with the countertop for easier use and wipe-down. - Dimmer Lights
One of the most requested camper van upgrades. Instead of just on/off switches, you now get full brightness control — and this is becoming standard in Geotrek vans. - Vet 2000R A/C
Tested against the Nomadic X2, this new unit ran up to 10 degrees cooler and costs less — a win for comfort and value. - Rear Racks Prototype (No-Drill Design)
Unlike most Sprinter van racks that require drilling, this prototype installs cleanly without permanent holes. It’s easier to add, easier to remove, and designed to work seamlessly with Geotrek’s ski box and awning windows — giving you extra gear storage without the usual compromises. - White Bamboo Wall Panels + Geotrek Storage Bins
At the rear of the demo build, we tested a new wall finish in milky white bamboo paired with flexible Geotrek storage bins. These attachable bins can mount to doors, cabinet sides, or wall panels, giving you easy access to everyday essentials without taking up valuable drawer or counter space.
From Feedback to Standard Features
Not every experiment makes it past the demo stage. Some ideas get refined, some get scrapped, and a few become staples in every Geotrek build. That’s the real value of our demo Sprinter vans — they let us test upgrades in the real world before they become part of our standard models.
A perfect example? Our Happy Hour Table. What started as a fun prototype quickly became one of the most-loved features across our vans — and now it’s a staple in every build.
Dimmer lighting is another. What began as one of the most-requested upgrades, made its way into a demo build, and is now becoming a standard feature in Geotrek vans.
This process is how upgrades move from nice ideas to camper van innovations that actually last.
From Road Tests to Real Features
When you step into a Geotrek van, you’re not buying something designed in a vacuum. Every feature has been tested in the field and shaped by real customer feedback.
That means:
- Proven performance — only the upgrades that hold up on real adventures make the cut.
- Customer-driven design — your feedback is what sets our vans apart.
- Ongoing innovation — we’re never done improving, and every demo build pushes us forward.
It’s not just about building vans. It’s about building them better every single time.
